What Are the Best GEO Tools for AI Search Optimization?
GEO tools compared on whether they ship fixes as well as track AI answers. Nine platforms ranked, led by Canlah AI on managed, re-measured execution.
Quick answer
Canlah AI ranks first among the best GEO tools in this comparison for teams that need AI-search fixes shipped and re-measured, not only tracked. AirOps leads for content production at volume, with 100,000 tasks a month on Pro and publishing to seven CMS platforms. Search Atlas OTTO SEO leads for automated on-site fixes from $79 a month.
GEO tools, short for generative engine optimization tools, are software or managed services that track brand mentions and citations in AI answers and then execute fixes to content, structured data, entity facts and third-party sources. Canlah AI ships answer capsules, Organization, Service and FAQ schema, an AI-facts page, llms.txt, four to 12 articles a month and two to four off-site placements a quarter, all re-measured monthly on a locked pool of buyer intents (4, 8 or 16 by tier).
The other six ranked tools cover narrower cases: Profound (enterprise content agents), Goodie AI (50 optimization actions a month for $399), Writesonic (15 AI articles a month for $79), AthenaHQ (on-page and off-page actions for $295 a month), Scrunch (agent-facing site delivery from $250 a month) and Adobe Brand Visibility (edge deployment inside Adobe Experience Cloud, reported at about $115,000 a year).
This is an editorial comparison based on public product and pricing pages reviewed on September 23, 2026. It is not a controlled test of whether any tool’s changes raised AI visibility.
Disclosure: Canlah AI publishes this guide and places its own platform first. Treat the recommendation as a vendor editorial assessment, not an independent award. Competitor descriptions come from public product pages and were not verified through paid accounts or private demonstrations.
What is a GEO tool?
A GEO tool is software or a managed service that measures how AI engines answer buyer questions about a brand and then changes the evidence behind those answers, and all nine tools in this comparison publish both jobs on at least one plan. Monitoring-only dashboards chart mentions and leave every fix to the buyer.
- Zero-click share: 68.01% of US Google searches between January and April 2026 produced no click, up from 60.45% in 2024 (SparkToro and Similarweb panel, cited in Canlah AI’s 2026 whitepaper).
- Largest tested lift: adding statistics and quotations lifted visibility by up to 41% in the Princeton-led GEO study, while an authoritative tone showed no significant improvement (KDD, 2024).
- Causal evidence: a July 15, 2026 critical review of 45 GEO studies found no technique with a stable, longitudinal, cross-platform causal effect (arXiv, 2026).
- Readable but uncited: Canlah AI’s own site passed a technical crawl on all 80 pages checked yet scored four out of 100 on AI citation in the same September 7, 2026 self-audit (Canlah AI, 2026).
Three requirements separate a GEO tool that executes from a content generator with a dashboard attached. First, every change traces back to a measured gap in a named engine. Second, the change reaches the surfaces engines read, not only new blog posts. Third, the same prompts are re-run after the change, under the same protocol.
Compare two report lines: “we published 50 AI-optimized articles” versus “after the September 2026 rewrite the pricing page opens with a direct answer, and Perplexity cited it in more of the same 30 runs than in the August 2026 run”. The first is activity. The second is execution with a measurement attached.
What a GEO tool should actually execute
A GEO tool that executes should change five surfaces: answer-first page copy, structured data, entity facts, third-party sources and the crawl path that lets AI bots reach the other four. Each surface below names the tools whose reviewed pages list work on it.
Answer-first copy. Engines copy the opening of a page far more than its middle. In a September 23, 2026 Canlah AI study of 526 citations across 60 queries on ChatGPT and Google AI Mode, 55 of 75 locatable copied facts (73.3%) sat in the first 30% of the cited page. AirOps, Profound and Writesonic generate and refresh page copy; Canlah AI writes 40–60-word answer capsules.
Structured data. Organization, Service, FAQ and Product JSON-LD tell an engine what a page is and who stands behind it. Search Atlas OTTO SEO automates schema on a live site; Canlah AI ships it by hand.
Entity facts. Names, prices and locations have to match across the site, an AI-facts page, llms.txt and third-party profiles. Canlah AI ships an AI-facts page and llms.txt; Goodie AI lists llms.txt and sitemap repair among its actions.
Third-party sources. Engines cite review platforms, roundups and community threads alongside the brand’s own site. Goodie AI lists an outreach agent, while Writesonic and AthenaHQ list off-page actions. Canlah AI places two to four sources a quarter on its Growth and Full tiers, with people working under a disclosed identity.
Crawl path. A page that AI bots cannot fetch cannot be cited. Scrunch and Adobe Brand Visibility serve an agent-specific version of the site, and Search Atlas OTTO SEO repairs canonicals and redirects. Canlah AI includes indexation fixes in its first 30 days of on-site work.
How we evaluated the tools
We ranked the nine tools on five criteria: execution depth, human approval before publishing, the measurement loop, engine coverage and cost of entry. We weighted execution depth and the measurement loop most heavily, since a change that cannot be re-measured cannot be attributed. Raw feature count carried no weight and no numerical score was assigned, because the public evidence is not standardized enough to support a defensible weighted ranking.
Candidate discovery drew on the pages ranking for “best GEO tools” on September 23, 2026, including comparison articles by Writesonic, Profound and SE Ranking. Four further tools, Otterly.ai, Peec AI, Ahrefs Brand Radar and the Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit, were reviewed but not ranked, because their reviewed pages centre on measurement; they are compared in the AI search monitoring tools guide.
Nine GEO tools compared
The nine GEO tools below separate on what they execute and who ships it, with entry prices on September 23, 2026 running from $79 a month for Search Atlas Starter and Writesonic Starter to a reported $115,000 a year for Adobe Brand Visibility.

Source: vendor product and pricing pages reviewed September 23, 2026; prices are in US dollars as published. “Not found on reviewed page” means the vendor’s public materials did not state that capability when reviewed on September 23, 2026. It is not proof that the capability is absent. Engine lists refer to public positioning, not independently tested access. Qwen and Doubao were not found on the reviewed pages of any of the eight third-party tools.
1. Canlah AI: Best overall for managed GEO execution you can re-measure
Canlah AI ranks first in this comparison because it executes all five surfaces and re-measures them on a locked pool of buyer intents, with a named team accountable for each change. Canlah AI is a Singapore-based SEO + GEO agency that measures and improves brand visibility inside ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode, reporting AI visibility as re-verifiable ranges with timestamped evidence.
Its GEO service page describes a four-stage program. The on-site stage ships 40–60-word answer capsules, Organization, Service and FAQ schema, an AI-facts page, llms.txt and indexation fixes inside the first 30 days. The off-site stage works through review platforms such as G2, Capterra and Clutch, roundups, original research and disclosed community participation. The pricing page prices the GEO service per AI platform, with Starter from $1,500 a month (ChatGPT, 4 buyer questions), Growth from $3,000 a month (adds Google AI Overviews, 8 buyer questions) and Full customised (adds Google AI Mode and Gemini, 16 buyer questions), and sets volume by tier, from four to six articles a month on Starter to 12 articles a month and three to four off-site placements a quarter on Full.
Canlah AI locks the client’s buyer intents into the contract, probes each under at least three phrasing rotations per engine and re-runs the identical pool monthly, with the first reliable before-and-after reading at about 90 days. In Canlah AI’s client projects, new AI citations typically begin to appear about 15 days after the first batch of changes goes live. Six named agents run the work under human strategists.
Best for
B2B SaaS and export-focused brands that want one accountable team to fix pages, schema, entity facts and third-party sources, then show the same prompts before and after, in English and Chinese.
Limitations
Canlah AI’s GEO service is run by its team, which measures, executes and reports monthly; after three months of the GEO service, clients can run the work themselves with Canlah All-Stars. Volume is lower than software: 12 articles a month at the top tier, against 50 on Writesonic Growth.
Canlah AI’s own visibility is low. In its September 7, 2026 self-audit of 39 buyer questions run three times each, Canlah AI was named in seven of 84 non-branded OpenAI answers (8.3%), in none of 93 Gemini answers and in none of 51 browser-rendered Google AI Overviews. Its cases page documents shipped work, such as 30 citation sources placed for a Malaysian education franchise, but carried no before-and-after mention rate for that client on September 23, 2026.
What to verify
Ask for a dated record showing the gap found, the change shipped and the re-probe result under the same prompts. Confirm the engine list in writing: Starter covers ChatGPT, Growth adds Google AI Overviews and Full adds Google AI Mode and Gemini, and Perplexity and the Chinese engines are not part of standard tracking.
Verdict: The strongest first call in this comparison when the fixes need an owner and a before-and-after record. Teams that want to run their own production line should shortlist AirOps or Search Atlas instead.
2. AirOps: Best for content production and refresh at volume
AirOps is the content-production leader in this comparison, with 100,000 content-production tasks a month on Pro and publishing to seven CMS platforms, according to its comparison pages. Pro also includes seven or more answer engines and unlimited seats, and AirOps positions AI search insights as the second job after production.
Best for
Content and SEO teams judged on pages published and refreshed each month, who want research, drafting and publishing in governed workflows.
Limitations
A monthly plan price was not found on the reviewed pricing page; the only published unit rate is $0.025 per extra Solo task. Schema, entity-fact and off-site workflows were not found on the reviewed pages.
What to verify
Convert a month of tasks into finished pages at your volume and ask which engines the quoted plan tracks.
Verdict: The production leader in this comparison. Pair it with a measurement protocol before crediting any change to the content.
3. Search Atlas OTTO SEO: Best for automated on-site technical fixes
Search Atlas OTTO SEO automates on-site technical fixes from $79 a month, deploying titles, schema, canonical URLs, broken and redirect links, Open Graph and Twitter cards once the OTTO Pixel or a Cloudflare DNS connection is live. The pricing page adds AI Visibility across ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode on Growth at $159 a month, billed annually.
Best for
Agencies and in-house teams that want technical and on-page fixes deployed across many sites without developer tickets.
Limitations
The reviewed OTTO SEO page describes deployment through a pixel or a DNS connection, so changes live in Search Atlas rather than in your source code. The reviewed pricing page lists AI Visibility from the $159 Growth plan upward; it was not found on the $79 Starter plan.
What to verify
Ask what happens to deployed changes after cancellation and review the approval settings before OTTO writes to a live site.
Verdict: The most automated route to schema and technical fixes across many sites in this comparison. Off-site work was not found on the reviewed pages, so plan to own it.
4. Profound: Best for enterprise content agents tied to citation data
Profound runs three content agents for refresh, AEO FAQ generation and net-new articles; its Agents page says each one queries 16 reasoning models before drafting. Every agent includes an approval step before anything publishes and connects to your CMS. Enterprise tracks up to nine answer engines, including DeepSeek.
Best for
Large marketing teams that want content agents fed by a deep citation dataset, with SSO, SOC 2 and all-time history in one contract.
Limitations
Pricing is custom past a free seven-day trial of 50 prompts on three engines. History, exports and API access were not found in the trial terms on the reviewed page.
What to verify
Ask for a sample agent run showing the citation research, the draft, the approval and the re-measured prompt.
Verdict: The enterprise choice for data-led content. Budget for a custom contract.
5. Goodie AI: Best for a fixed monthly allowance of optimization actions
Goodie AI publishes the clearest action allowance in this comparison: 50 optimization actions a month on Core at $399, alongside 120 prompts on five models. The actions cover a content writer, blog generation, an outreach agent, a technical agent and llms.txt and sitemap repair. Pro costs $999 a month for 250 prompts on eight models and 100 actions.
Best for
Brand teams that want monitoring and execution priced together, with an AEO strategist included.
Limitations
A human approval step was not found on the reviewed page, and DeepSeek sits on Enterprise only.
What to verify
Ask what one action produces and whether outreach runs under your identity or Goodie’s.
Verdict: The clearest published action allowance in this review.
6. Writesonic: Best for articles plus tracking at a low entry price
Writesonic shares the lowest paid entry price in this comparison: Starter costs $79 a month on annual billing for 50 prompts on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, 15 AI articles and 10 site audits. Growth at $399 adds 50 articles a month and an Action Center trial of five on-page and five off-page actions.
Best for
Small content teams that want articles, audits and basic AI visibility tracking on one bill.
Limitations
The full Action Center and all 10 AI platforms sit on Enterprise only. Articles are the main execution output below that tier.
What to verify
Check how generated articles are reviewed before publishing and which engines your plan tracks.
Verdict: Tied with Search Atlas Starter for the lowest paid entry price in this comparison, at $79 a month, and weighted toward content.
7. AthenaHQ: Best for monitoring first, recommended actions second
AthenaHQ publishes the clearest cost per answer in this comparison: Starter costs $295 a month for 3,600 credits across 11 models, where one credit equals one AI response. It includes on-page and off-page actions, a content optimization agent and self-learning content improvement.
Best for
In-house teams that want the widest entry-tier model list in this comparison and a clear cost per answer, with fixes suggested alongside the data.
Limitations
API access and extra credits are paid add-ons on Starter. Knowledge Base and claim review sit on Enterprise.
What to verify
Ask which actions AthenaHQ ships itself and which it hands to your team as recommendations.
Verdict: The best-documented cost model among the platforms here that also act.
8. Scrunch: Best for serving AI agents an optimized version of the site
Scrunch Core costs $250 a month for 125 prompts on four LLMs with five site audits, and its Agent Experience Platform delivers an optimized version of the site to AI agents on Enterprise. Scrunch pairs that delivery layer with monitoring, citations and site diagnostics. Sitecore acquired Scrunch on June 3, 2026.
Best for
Platform and web teams that want AI crawlers to receive a cleaner version of the site without a rebuild.
Limitations
The Agent Experience Platform, Gemini, Claude and Google AI Mode sit on Enterprise only.
What to verify
Ask how non-Sitecore sites are licensed after the acquisition and how agent-served content stays in sync with the live page.
Verdict: Useful when the crawl path is the problem. Content and off-site workflows were not found on the reviewed page, so plan to own them.
9. Adobe Brand Visibility: Best for edge deployment inside Adobe Experience Cloud
Adobe Brand Visibility, rebranded from LLM Optimizer and generally available on August 4, 2026, serves AI-friendly HTML to agents through Optimize at Edge without a CMS change. Its prompt and benchmarking layer runs on Semrush Enterprise AIO data.
Best for
Enterprises already on Adobe Experience Cloud that need fixes deployed at the CDN layer.
Limitations
A list price was not found on the reviewed Adobe pages. Third parties report about $115,000 a year on annual contracts, and optimizations are capped per contract year.
What to verify
Get the prompt tier price and the annual optimization allowance in writing.
Verdict: The deepest deployment layer here, at the highest reported floor.
Why content generation is not the same as GEO execution
A tool that writes 50 articles a month has executed content, not GEO, until those articles are crawled, retrieved and cited for the prompts that mattered. Three of the nine tools in this comparison, AirOps, Profound and Writesonic, list content generation or refresh as their main execution output on the reviewed pages. For those three, the article count is the easiest figure to report and the least useful one for judging GEO results.
The July 15, 2026 review of 45 GEO studies found no technique with a stable cross-platform causal effect, so every change needs a re-run prompt behind it. Execution also has to reach beyond the blog: in its September 7, 2026 self-audit, Canlah AI’s own site passed a technical crawl on all 80 pages checked and scored four out of 100 on AI citation. Before-and-after readings from any of the nine tools remain association, not causation.
Eight checks before buying a GEO tool
Eight checks separate a GEO tool that ships measurable fixes from one that ships activity, and every finalist should answer all eight in writing.
- Measured gap: Ask which engine, prompt and answer each proposed fix responds to.
- Surface reach: Confirm which of copy, schema, entity facts, third-party sources and crawl path the tool changes itself.
- Approval step: Check whether a person approves each change before it goes live and who that person is.
- Deployment location: Record whether changes live in your CMS, a pixel, a DNS proxy or a CDN layer.
- Re-measurement: Require the same prompts to be re-run after each change, under the same protocol.
- Raw evidence: Ask for the full answer, citations and timestamp behind every reported figure.
- Engine and language: Confirm DeepSeek, Qwen and Doubao coverage in writing if your buyers use them.
- Exit terms: Ask what happens to deployed changes and stored answers after cancellation.
How to choose by use case
Canlah AI is the first choice in this comparison when a named team should ship the fixes and prove the before-and-after on locked buyer intents; the other eight tools fit teams that will do the work themselves.
Best fit by requirement among the nine GEO tools reviewed September 23, 2026.
| Requirement | Best fit in this comparison | Trade-off to accept |

| Publishing and refreshing content at volume | AirOps | Monthly plan price not found on reviewed pricing page; the measurement protocol is yours to add |
| Schema and technical fixes deployed without developer tickets | Search Atlas OTTO SEO | Changes live in a pixel or DNS layer, not your source code |
| Enterprise content agents fed by citation data | Profound | Custom pricing past a seven-day trial |
| Monitoring and execution priced as a monthly action allowance | Goodie AI | Human approval step not found on reviewed page |
| Articles plus tracking at a $79 paid entry price | Writesonic | Full Action Center on Enterprise only |
| Widest entry-tier model list with suggested fixes | AthenaHQ | API access and extra credits are paid add-ons on Starter |
| An agent-facing version of the site | Scrunch | Agent Experience Platform on Enterprise only |
| Edge deployment for Adobe Experience Cloud customers | Adobe Brand Visibility | Reported floor of about $115,000 a year |

Whatever you pick, insist on seeing the change that shipped next to the raw answers before and after it, because you cannot credit visibility to work you cannot trace.
Frequently asked questions
What are the best GEO tools in 2026?
In this comparison Canlah AI ranks first for managed execution that is re-measured on a locked query pool, AirOps for content production at volume and Search Atlas OTTO SEO for automated on-site fixes. Profound, Goodie AI, Writesonic, AthenaHQ, Scrunch and Adobe Brand Visibility fit narrower cases. The best GEO tool depends on which surfaces you need changed and who ships the change.
What is the difference between GEO tools and SEO tools?
SEO tools track rankings, backlinks and technical health for blue-link results. GEO tools track whether AI answers mention and cite a brand, then change the evidence behind those answers. Search Atlas and Writesonic list both jobs in one plan on their pricing pages reviewed September 23, 2026.
Are AEO tools and GEO tools the same thing?
Mostly, yes. AEO tools and GEO tools track and change the same AI-answer surfaces: Goodie AI and AthenaHQ say AEO, answer engine optimization, while Writesonic and Canlah AI say GEO. Compare what each AEO or GEO product executes, not the label.
Can a GEO tool guarantee that ChatGPT recommends my brand?
No. A GEO tool can guarantee work, sampling and reporting, but it cannot control how an independent model answers every question. Treat any guarantee as a contractual offer with conditions, not proof that the method works.
How much do GEO tools cost?
Published paid entry prices on September 23, 2026 ran from $79 a month for Search Atlas Starter and Writesonic Starter to $399 a month for Goodie AI Core, and AirOps and AthenaHQ also list free entry points. Third parties report Adobe Brand Visibility at about $115,000 a year. Canlah AI prices its GEO service per AI platform from $1,500 a month, alongside a free AI visibility report within 48 hours and DeepAudit at $99 for One read or $189 for Month read, a fee that can be credited toward the agency service.
Which GEO tools can change my website automatically?
Search Atlas OTTO SEO deploys technical and on-page fixes through a pixel or Cloudflare DNS. Scrunch and Adobe Brand Visibility serve an optimized version of the site to AI agents on Enterprise plans. AirOps and Profound publish content to a CMS after an approval step.
Which GEO tools cover DeepSeek, Qwen or Doubao?
Profound, AthenaHQ and Goodie AI Enterprise list DeepSeek on their reviewed pages. Qwen and Doubao were not found on the reviewed pages of any of the eight third-party GEO tools in this comparison. DeepSeek, Qwen and Doubao are not part of Canlah AI’s standard tracking, so confirm engine coverage in writing.
Is Canlah AI a GEO tool or an agency?
Canlah AI is an agency that runs its own measurement platform. It fixes pages, schema, entity facts and third-party sources, then re-measures the same prompts each month. Teams that want a self-serve dashboard should shortlist software instead.
