Quick answer

Canlah AI’s reading of the official pages in this guide is that the EDGE Grant can pay up to 50 percent of a digital marketing package for a Singapore SME, but at most S$5,000, and only when the package is IMDA pre-approved. Enterprise Singapore states that the Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG), the Enterprise Development Grant (EDG) and the Market Readiness Assistance grant (MRA) ceased on 29 September 2026, and that applications from 30 September go to the EDGE Grant. Treat this guide as a reading of public pages checked on November 2, 2026, not as eligibility advice: Enterprise Singapore decides every application.

Disclosure: Canlah AI publishes this guide and sells SEO and GEO services. Its public pages do not list an IMDA pre-approved package, so it does not receive grant-funded work through the activity described here.

What does the EDGE Grant cover for digital marketing?

The EDGE Grant covers digital marketing through one activity, Digital Marketing, listed among its single-function digital solutions. Enterprise Singapore’s activity page sets the terms below.

  • Support level: up to 50 percent for SMEs, at most S$5,000, and up to 30 percent for non-SMEs, at most S$3,000.
  • Cost cap: the cost of the activity is capped at S$10,000, and software costs are supported for up to 12 months.
  • Not supported: GST and maintenance costs.
  • Annual caps: support for all automation and digitalisation projects counts toward a S$30,000 yearly cap, inside the S$100,000 overall EDGE cap per company, which resets each April 1.
  • Timing: the project must be completed within 18 months of approval, and the page states an application outcome in one week.

The package itself is defined by IMDA. Its pre-approval guide describes Digital Marketing Packages as a combination of vendor-provided services including search engine optimisation (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM) and social media marketing. Each campaign must be a separate line item with specific quantities, and each package must carry at least one revenue-centric KPI, a ROAS or leads-increase target. Advertising can sit inside a package, but IMDA states that its related costs are not supportable by the grant and are borne by the SME.

What happened to the PSG grant for digital marketing?

The PSG grant no longer accepts new applications for digital marketing: Enterprise Singapore states that EDG, MRA and PSG ceased on 29 September 2026. Ongoing PSG projects continue to be processed, and claims can be submitted when they are completed. GoBusiness notes that Enterprise Singapore’s PSG solutions no longer appear in its directory from 30 September 2026 and points businesses to BizSG for EDGE support.

Searches for “PSG grant SEO” and “PSG digital marketing grant” still return agency pages written before the change. A quote that names PSG today is out of date, and the vendor should restate it under the EDGE Grant.

How to use the EDGE Grant for a digital marketing package: five steps

Canlah AI’s five steps below follow the order on Enterprise Singapore’s Digital Marketing activity page. The one rule that decides most outcomes comes first: nothing may be paid or started before the application is submitted.

Step 1: Check that the company qualifies

The activity page lists four conditions. The business must be registered and operating in Singapore, at least 30 percent owned by Singapore citizens or permanent residents, not home-based and not previously funded for the same solution. It must also not have started work or paid any deposit to the vendor before applying.

Step 2: Pick a pre-approved vendor and package

Pre-approved vendors and solutions are listed on IMDA’s SMEs Go Digital platform. A digital marketing package that is not on that list cannot be claimed under this activity, however the vendor describes it.

Step 3: Get a quotation that matches the package exactly

The vendor issues a quotation, and the company builds the same package on SMEs Go Digital, adjusting components such as licences and professional services. The package must match the quotation exactly, and signing in with Corppass generates the package reference ID that the application needs.

Step 4: Apply on the Business Grants Portal before paying anything

The company applies itself through the Business Grants Portal with its Corppass account. The activity page states that third-party companies are not permitted to apply for or manage the grant on the applicant’s behalf, so an agency can prepare documents but cannot submit them.

Step 5: Finish the project, pay in full, then claim

EDGE is paid on a reimbursement basis after the activity is completed and fully paid. The EDGE FAQ states that claims for single-function digital solutions can only be submitted from 1 December 2026, and the Digital Marketing deliverable is a photo of the deployed solution with its unique identifier.

How to interpret five common grant quotes

Canlah AI reviewed agency grant pages on November 2, 2026. Five kinds of quote recur, and each has one question that settles it.

  1. “50% off our monthly SEO retainer.” A retainer is usually not the grant package. Best SEO’s packages page states that its retainer tiers are not grant packages and that grant support applies only to its separate IMDA pre-approved packages. Ask which package ID the 50 percent refers to.
  2. “Up to 70% EDGE support for SEO.” The EDGE FAQ gives SMEs up to 70 percent only for internationalisation and sustainability activities. The Digital Marketing activity is up to 50 percent, at most S$5,000.
  3. A grant price that includes ad spend. IMDA excludes advertising costs, including the management fee on ad buys, from grant support. Ask for the media budget and its management fee on a separate line.
  4. A package that includes GEO. IMDA’s category names SEO, SEM and social media marketing, and at least one Singapore agency, OOm, lists an SEO + GEO combination among its EDGE packages on November 2, 2026. Check that the GEO work is itemised with quantities in the approved package.
  5. A quote that still says PSG. PSG ceased on 29 September 2026. Ask the vendor to restate the quote under the EDGE Grant before signing.

What the EDGE Grant checklist cannot prove

The EDGE Grant checklist shows that a package meets IMDA’s solution requirements; it does not show that the SEO, SEM or GEO work will change rankings or AI answers. Approval tests the package’s structure, its line items and its revenue-centric KPI. It does not test how often ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode name the business before and after the work.

The grant also caps the support, not the work. On a S$10,000 package an SME recovers at most S$5,000, and anything bought beyond the package, such as a monthly retainer after the project ends, is paid in full.

When to move from a grant package to a GEO retainer

Move from a grant package to a monthly GEO retainer when the business needs the same buyer questions re-measured every month, which a fixed-scope package with a 12-month cap on software costs is not built to do. OOm’s EDGE page shows a three-month S$10,000 package as its worked example, which fits a first project rather than ongoing measurement.

Canlah AI’s GEO service is priced per AI platform from $1,500 a month on its pricing page and is not grant-funded. Its free AI visibility report, delivered within 48 hours, records which engines name the business before any money is committed, so the grant package and a later retainer can be judged against the same baseline.

Frequently asked questions

Can the EDGE Grant pay for SEO in Singapore?

Yes, when the SEO work sits inside an IMDA pre-approved digital marketing package. The EDGE Grant’s Digital Marketing activity covers up to 50 percent for SMEs, at most S$5,000 on a S$10,000 cost cap, and IMDA’s package category names SEO, SEM and social media marketing.

Is the PSG grant still available for digital marketing?

No. Enterprise Singapore states that PSG, EDG and MRA ceased on 29 September 2026 and that new applications go to the EDGE Grant. PSG projects that were already approved continue to be processed.

How much can an SME get for digital marketing under the EDGE Grant?

An SME can get at most S$5,000, which is 50 percent of the S$10,000 cost cap on the Digital Marketing activity. A non-SME can get up to 30 percent, at most S$3,000. The support counts toward the S$30,000 yearly cap for automation and digitalisation.

Does the EDGE Grant cover GEO or AI search work?

Only if the GEO work is itemised in an IMDA pre-approved package. IMDA’s category page does not name GEO, but a vendor’s approved package can include it, so check the line items and quantities before applying.

Can an agency apply for the EDGE Grant on my behalf?

No. Enterprise Singapore’s Digital Marketing activity page states that third-party companies are not permitted to apply for or manage the grant on the applicant’s behalf. The vendor provides the quotation, and the company applies through the Business Grants Portal with its own Corppass account.

Is Canlah AI an EDGE pre-approved vendor?

Canlah AI’s public pages do not list an IMDA pre-approved package. Its GEO service starts at $1,500 a month per AI platform, and its free AI visibility report shows where a business stands in AI answers before any grant or retainer decision.
